Portal Prodigy, Inc Announces Major Enhancements to its E-Commerce and Web Portal System

Irvine, CA – Sept 12, 2006 — The company has added major enhancements to latest release of PortalProdigy.  The latest additions include enhancements to online shopping, memberships and administration.  "This release of PortalProdigy rounds out our E-Commerce and Membership offerings to provide a truly feature rich online experience" notes Brock Miller, CTO of Portal Prodigy, Inc.

PortalProdigy now offers the ability to display related products such as accessories, similar products, books by the same author, etc.; thus providing greater upselling and cross selling opportunities.  The product catalog has also been enhanced with document collections and picture collections.  Document collections make it easy to display additional product information such as warranties, specifications, user manuals, etc.  Documents collections are fully integrated with PortalProdigy's Document Resource Library making it easy to reuse documents shared by other products.   Picture collections allow an unlimited number of pictures to be loaded and displayed for each product.

A new Featured Products by Category option has been added to the Product Catalog further enhancing PortalProdigy's ability to create a rich online shopping experience. 

PortalProdigy now offers the ability for customers to create online quote requests and bid requests.  PortalProdigy makes it easy to price the request and automatically notify the customer by email.  Customers can view their quotes online and quickly convert them to orders.  Simple adminstrative screens provide the ability to define data collection forms unique to each business.

Shipping instructions, Purchase Order # and Sidemark entry have been added to the Shopping Cart feature and the customer order status screen now includes tracking numbers with automated link to carrier's website to track shipping status.  Order fulfillment has been updated to provide quick entry of tracking numbers.

New administration features include an Item Copy feature, Move Catalog Category feature, and Advanced Product Import and Export features. 

PortalProdigy's Membership and Subscription features have received numerous enhancements including the ability to define an unlimited number of fee options, auto assignment of web url for organizations selling web services, quick revokation capability, and simplified billing.  Membership status page provides customers with options to view their membership and subscriptions detail along with options to make payments and change their billing information.
